About Autumn’s Place

Autumn’s Place was created with deep understanding of how overwhelming this season can feel. This program offers structured transitional housing for women who need stability, consistency, and support, without judgment or pressure.

While you are here, you will live in a clean, fully furnished shared home with clear, respectful expectations that help create a calm and supportive environment. Utilities are included, and stays are short‑term to mid‑term, giving you the time and space needed to rebuild at a steady, realistic pace.

During your stay, you will be supported as you work toward personal goals such as employment, education, housing transition, and healthier daily routines. Support includes regular check‑ins, thoughtful planning, and connections to community resources that can help you move forward with greater confidence. Autumn’s Place is not an emergency shelter; it is a purposeful bridge; one designed to help you move from uncertainty toward stability and independence, knowing someone truly cares about where you are and where you’re headed.

Why Autumn’s Place

Autumn’s Place was created because rebuilding your life takes more than just a bed; it takes structure, consistency, and a space where you feel supported rather than rushed. If your life has felt unstable, we understand how important it is to have an environment that offers both safety and steady guidance. Here, you are supported as you establish healthy routines, practice responsibility, and build the skills needed for independent living.

This program is designed to help you focus on progress, one step at a time. Clear house guidelines, supportive supervision, and a calm, drug‑free setting work together to create stability and peace of mind. Autumn’s Place gives you the space to reset, regain focus, and move forward with intention, knowing you are not doing it alone.

Impact & Outcomes

At Autumn’s Place, you are welcomed exactly where you are. Whether you are a woman veteran or navigating a personal crisis, you’ll find a safe, stable space where healing happens at a pace that respects your experiences and your needs.

While you’re here, you’ll be supported, never pressured, as you take meaningful steps toward independence. This can include working toward employment or stable income, building life and financial skills, caring for your mental and emotional well‑being with support from trusted therapists, and slowly reconnecting with family and support systems when you’re ready.

With consistent guidance and compassionate care, you’ll be supported as you build accountability, strengthen decision‑making, and develop daily habits that promote confidence, resilience, and long‑term stability. Each step is designed to help you prepare for a successful transition into permanent housing and a renewed sense of independence.

Every step you take matters, even the small ones. Autumn’s Place is here to walk beside you, offering encouragement and support as you build a strong foundation that lasts beyond your stay and leads to a safer, more stable future.

The Numbers Behind the Need

The Need for Structured Transitional Housing

  • Homelessness among veterans remains a serious concern, with unsheltered veteran homelessness rising sharply between 2020 and 2023 despite broader declines in overall veteran homelessness.
  • Many veterans face difficulty accessing stable housing, civilian employment, and support systems during the transition out of military service. Over half report feeling unprepared to navigate civilian resources, and many experience income gaps after separation.
  • PTSD, military trauma, depression, cumulative trauma, and domestic violence are all significant contributors to housing instability and homelessness.
  • Many individuals experiencing crisis situations report unmet housing needs due to limited shelter capacity, funding shortages, and lack of supportive housing resources.
  • National and Texas-specific data show that thousands of shelter and housing requests go unmet each year.
  • Research consistently demonstrates that structured transitional housing improves housing stability, reduces exposure to violence, and supports better mental health and overall well-being.
  • Housing programs that combine safe housing with mental health care, life-skills development, and employment support significantly increase long-term housing stability and economic self-sufficiency.
  • Federal agencies including the VA, HUD, and DOL, along with academic researchers and public-health organizations, continue to affirm that safe, structured housing combined with supportive services significantly improves long-term outcomes for individuals transitioning out of crisis situations.
